Questions about the samples

Are these real estimates?

Yes. Each sample is an excerpt from an estimate we delivered: one marked-up page from the PlanSwift takeoff and some of the quantity lines from the detailed estimate. Client names, title blocks, stamps and addresses are removed.

Why are the prices left out?

The prices belong to the contractor who ordered the estimate, so we only show quantities. Every estimate we deliver is fully priced, with material and labor cost on each line and a bid summary by CSI division.

What does the “with waste” quantity mean?

It is the measured quantity plus the waste factor for that item, and it is the quantity we price. Concrete and rebar usually carry 5%, most other materials 10%, and counted items such as fixtures and valves none.

What does “Assumed” mean on a line?

The drawings did not show the item clearly, so we included it on a stated assumption. It is labelled on its line so you can confirm it or take it out before you bid.
